Please join us on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 7-9pm for Romeo & Juliet La Tormenta Act I performance at the Norma & William Horvitz Auditorium at NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale

Florida is the historical backdrop for Romeo & Juliet and The Tempest, two Shakespearean classics, where lost kingdoms, dangerous romance and real mystery abound. This American odyssey comes to life through an original script adapted by Florida playwrights. A diverse cast of talented actors and dancers perform folkloric choreography and rarely heard traditional music by Afro-Cuban artists. Features a special engagement solo work by Isanusi Garcia Rodriguez, choreographer and dancer previously with the Miami City Ballet and current artist, Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami. And live, Spanish guitar music by Alberto Puerto.  Master Painter, Karl Momen, joins the cast for a conversation about the enduring impact of Shakespeare on artistic disciplines of all types and cultures all around the globe.
